GERMANY
Everyone, Europeans and non-Europeans alike, wants to know this country that is so famous where order, punctuality and cleanliness are the basics. Also, people of various nationalities live in Germany, looking for a good life and want to be part of this large and important country in Europe. It offers a lot: active and passive relaxation; mountains and lakes and cities and monuments to admire. Just walk and you are in a world which will teach and educate you with every step you make. Be a good and respectful tourist because that is what is valued here. 
Germany is located in the western part of Europe and its neighbours are France, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
The official language of Germany is German. If you do not speak or do not understand the language, do not worry because there are plenty of schools that offer German courses. If you spend a vacation in Germany of only a few days as a real tourist, you can get help with English, it will be no problem. And, if you know at least some words of their language, the locals always appreciate it if you try to be closer to them.

When you decide to make a trip to Germany it would be a shame not to visit its capital ‒ Berlin - the city with many cultural, social and other possibilities where you never get bored and can take away only the best memories and ideas for your next trip. The Berlin Wall, which officially fell in 1990 and had till then divided East and West Germany, the German Parliament, the Brandenburg Gate, Television Tower Berlin and Berlin Cathedral are just some of the sites where you should stop, see and experience to become fully immersed in the German environment. This way you do tourism in Berlin as tourists who really are interested in coming to know and learn.

Among other cities worth visiting are Munich, Hamburg, Aachen, Cologne, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. If you decide to rent a car, you will find it easier to understand Germany with all its customs, habits and attractions. It is really the best way to do a tour in Germany. However, Germany has an excellent railway system, which always runs on time!
Germany is divided into 16 federal states called Bundesländer and each has its own government and parliament. 
EU Member
Germany is among the founding countries of the EU. Its membership commenced in 1958. Around 40 years later, in 1999, it began using the euro currency as a member of the euro area.
Climate and Weather
Mild is the best description of the climate in Germany, although we must point out the northern part of the country, influenced by the ocean climate, is characterised by more frequent rains than the rest of the country. Generally summers are not so hot, with temperatures varying between 28 and 30 °C. Winters are usually not too cold, averaging from 3 to -6 °C. 
What else defines Germany
Germany is a country where there is much to see; from nature, culture, history, historical monuments and beautiful castles to the mountains, visited by many tourists ‒ and not only in winter for a good ski season. They also come in summer for the countryside, lakes and rivers of which all Germans are very proud.
One of the most interesting sites for spending holidays in Germany is the very popular city of Cologne, which hosts the large, annual Christmas Market. Visit the city’s many points of interest including the famous Cologne Cathedral, which is a World Heritage site. Its Gothic architecture daily attracts many tourists to admire its beauty from outside and also within. 
To fully enjoy the German treasures we advise you to take in the German Alpine Road. In this area you can experience the Bavarian Alps where you can see all the beautiful scenery and the castles, lakes, churches and monasteries. You can travel its 450-kilometre length and take home unforgettable memories from this country where everything seems to be pleasantly in order. Along the way you will discover Neuschwanstein Castle, Lake Constance, Ettal Abbey and much more, accompanied by the beautiful surroundings of the German Alps.
Religion, Culture and Music
Germany is dominated by Christianity, but other religions such as Islam, Buddhism and Judaism have their place here too.
Among the great people of German culture belongs, undoubtedly, Ludwig van Beethoven, the famous German composer, whose great works still live today despite the passing of so many years and who is famous all over the world.
We cannot forget Albert Einstein and Friedrich Schiller and others who made the country even more famous and greater. 
German Cuisine
German cuisine is very different, varying by region. Generally we can say that what dominates is meat ‒ pork and beef. Germans often eat sausages of many different types.
There are plenty of dishes that can be tried. From the many we chose Sauerbraten, which is simply marinated beef in red wine vinegar and vegetable stock.
You should sample some apfelstrudel for dessert. It is a sweet, rolled-up pastry filled with apple and sprinkled with icing sugar – eat hot or cold and enjoy!
Useful Tips
• A restaurant tip is usually included in the bill. If not, it comprises between 5 and 10% of the total; it is usual to give this amount to the waiter. Taxi drivers are also used to receiving tips
• Dinner in Germany is eaten around 20:00 hrs
• Stores and shopping centres are closed on Sundays
• All tourists from the European Union are advised to carry the European Health Card in case of health problems/medical emergencies
